P3 Housing

A cohousing project that focuses on children and single families. The scheme aims to create a community where the residents can take care of each others’ children. Two single family homes are linked by the kitchen which can be opened up to form a larger dining area. The common house at the centre provides space for communal activities such as dining and day-care while the communal garden allows children and families to play together.

P2 Community theatre

A flexible theatre with a re-tractable roof that allows dangerous performances such as pyrotechnics and fireworks to take place. The steel bracing frame supports the re-tractable roof, lighting and trapeze ropes for acrobatics performance.

P1 Walking

A visitor centre and lodging that sits at the edge of Back Tor in the Peak Districts. The off-grid building can accommodate 12 hikers and has an observation deck hanging over the cliff. The main building is made of locally sourced stones, a material commonly used for the farmhouses in the surrounding while the lodging is made of timber to define the function and hierarchy of the two parts. The main building is trapezium in plan and section, opening  out onto the view of the Peak Districts.
