section and community interior

The community centre space have been designed to convey a sense of safety and security, without intimidating the guests.

The reception area is double height with a skylight to create a bright and airy space. The long reception desk and the glimpses of activities throughout the building give to these vulnerable women the impression of being in a dynamic well-managed facility where they will not be judged or harassed.

The whole space – library, IT, living and dining – is double height with a mezzanine floor. The roof timber beams continue down to the ground, alternating with glass.

The fully glazed fa├žade allows light and views of the interior courtyard, and visually connects the community centre to the housing
