Site analysis

The birds- eye perspective drawing explores the massing response to the site, allowing for the taller buildings to be positioned to the end near the high-street and the single storey dwellings to lie adjacent to the bungalows to the south of the site. This arrangement minimises any overshadowing and responds to the surrounding massing appropriately. The surrounding houses are predominantly in terrace form, although there is little regularity in form.

The current medical centre was unwelcoming and not well used or appropriate and was thus not included in the scheme. Instead this developed the idea of promoting health and well-being instead of combatting it.
